In any normal winter millions of people struggle to stay warm at home. Rising energy costs, low incomes and energy inefficient homes converge to leave them in desperate situations where they can no longer afford to heat their homes, feed their families and pay their rent or mortgages.
This is not a normal winter. Covid-19 is combining with cold homes to accelerate and multiply these issues, especially for those now on reduced income or having lost their jobs. People are now compelled to spend more time in homes that they can’t afford to heat, putting those vulnerable with health issues at further risk.
We hope this campaign will raise awareness of the help and advice that is freely available to all those who need support.

Identify the characters in the five key messages about home warmth and energy - click on the images to enlarge them. Correct entries will be put into our prize draw for the chance to win one of four £25 vouchers up for grabs and are eligible for Children's University credit.

We are looking for ideas on how we can further promote the important messages of staying warm at home and energy to the wider community. Why don't you do some further research on the subject and see what other hints & tips you can help promote?

The best artwork will be used to promote the campaign in your school and communities. Please send any submissions to teachers@southportecocentre.com.

Closing date for entries and artwork is February 28th.
