Other education services in Sefton
Travel
Sefton's Travel Awareness and Road Safety teams provide a wide range of services and activities for schools. These include working actively within schools on choices of travel and improving safety as well as offering a range of promotional materials and information that can be directly incorporated into the curriculum. Our existing work with schools includes:
- school travel plans and travel plan workshops
- cycle training (to the new national standard)
- bike maintenance workshops and activities
- walk to school weeks and other walking activities
- pedestrian training
- road safety awareness and training
- advice on the transition from primary to secondary school

Recycling
Sefton Council are involved with several projects that engage with schools and community groups to help embrace the 4Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Responsibility. From newsletters to presentations by our Environmental Education Officer, the Sefton Schools Recycling Project offers free recycling collections for schools, handbooks, recycling equipment and much more.

Energy
Alongside the new 'Eco Focus' community education sessions Sefton Council's Energy Team engages and advises householders in many ways.
Any householder can check their energy efficiency status by completing a free home energy check.
Sefton Council also works in partnership with the Merseyside Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre and we can provide advice talks to groups, energy stalls at local events or training for staff on energy efficiency.
