The Southport Eco Centre has produced a number of educational resources.
The Southport Eco Centre education pack is ideal for Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3 pupils working on local and contrasting area studies in Geography and is packed with information, activities, photos, maps and games. Relevant to many subjects in the curriculum, the pack also contains information on the sustainable design and technology used at the Eco Centre. The resource can be used to complement a visit to the Centre. A hard copy was sent to all Sefton Primary, Junior, Special and Secondary schools and the resource is also available free online at www.sefton.gov.uk/ecocentreeducation

A set of pre- and post- visit lesson plans and resources are available for many of our educational visit days, to allow you to turn a visit from a stand alone event into a complete, cohesive unit of work. This resource is available via the Sefton schools intranet. Please contact the Resident Teacher for more information.
The Eco Centre Fact Pack contains key information on environmental issues with particular reference to the sustainable design and technology at the Centre, travel and energy. Call into the Centre or contact the Resident Teacher for your copy or click here to download PDF (5.5MB).
A pack has been put together for use by teachers and their
pupils when studying Southport in their geography 'local area' or
'contrasting area' units of work. It can be used independently but
is perhaps best complemented by a day trip here to learn more about
how to preserve the environment as you study it today. |
