  Education at the Eco CentreCore activities
Most school groups visiting the Eco Centre take part in some ‘core’ activities, based around the key features/facilities of the building;

Tour of the Centre

The resident teacher takes the group around the concourse area, through the Eco garden and into the classroom, giving students information about the eco-friendly features and technologies on site.

Interactive educational displays
Pupils pair up and take a questionnaire around the interactive educational displays. The more answers they find (and remember!), the better they will do in the quiz at the end of the day!

Eco garden
The students get a break in the Eco garden, where they have a chance to explore the recycled/reused features and information boards, finding out more about composting, energy crops, organic gardening and seeing solar power in action (on a sunny day!).

‘Qwizdom’ quiz
The day culminates in an interactive quiz where each pupil (up to a class size of 32) uses their own, allocated handset (a bit like ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’) to prove how much they’ve learned about the environment over the course of the day. The quiz is often linked to the interactive displays which the pupils worked around earlier in the day
